Revision sells album on USB flash drive
The band Revision is from Ithaca New York and they are playing at my school on Sunday. They are playing at an Earth Day event sponsored by the student group I am a member of, Husky Energy Action Team or HEAT.
I had never heard of these guys so I decided to look them up online and listen to a few of their songs, as to be familiar with their music before I see them on Sunday. While navigating their site I learned that they are planning to release an album this year on a flash drive. What a great idea! This is from their online store -
-All tracks are high quality 16 bit AIF audio files (with no DRM so sharing is easy)
-All album artwork and lyrics are included in PDF format
-Drives also include an EXCLUSIVE video interview with Nick, JP and Devon about the making of the album
-You can erase the 1 gig drive and use it for your own purposes
-It’s a greener way to go…less packaging, less waste and it’s reusable
I can definitely see more envionmentally aware bands or labels doing this. Oh and did I mention they’re touring in a biodiesel powered van. Saving the Earth and music industry, one idea at a time.
