I am only satisfied if my spectators, shivering and shuddering, raise their hands or cover their eyes out of fear of ghosts and devils dashing towards them.

Etienne Robertson speaking of the haunted ghost shows he would put on in old tombs and crypts in Paris. It seems as though this man and Rob Zombie have similar aspirations in life.

Phantasmagoria - What people used to do before movies… this sounds a lot more fun than a ballet or a musical.

I wonder why

I was attending a public appearance by the president. As he walked onto the balcony, a sniper fired two shots directly into his face and he collapsed instantly. My first instint was to send a quick SMS to my mom (“Bush is dead.”). When I woke up, I had the feeling that would be my reaction in real life, too.

I read this post a couple days ago and it immediately evaporated from my mind like most things that I read on the Internet but then this morning I woke up from the most realistic dream I have ever had in which I survived a plane crash.  My immediate reaction once I realized I was still alive was to go over to my floating backpack find my camera and take a video of my friends and what this shared experience meant to them.  I was prioritizing the nostalgia of looking back on a situation prior to living it for the first time and when I awoke I also had the feeling that this might be my reaction in real life too.

It later occured to me that I had read of a similar situation on someone’s tumblr, hence the quoted article.  Now what really worries me is whether I had that dream because I read the article or whether it was just by chance that I had a similar dream and I remembered reading the article after I woke up.

I ran a mile. I can’t remember the last time I did that. I felt sick to my stomach afterwards. I am proud of myself.

time to start your day

I woke up this morning.  That in itself is a satement I can’t say I’ve used lately.  I have been working on huge final projects for the past week and therefore have not gotten much sleep thus warrenting sleep during daylight hours.

These projects have since been turned in I have been able to get back into a regular routine.  This morning I woke up at 6 restless to start my day.  I first walked to the closest restaurant I knew that served breakfast, McDonald’s (unfortunatly the diner I would have preferred is in the South End and would’ve taken me a bus ride to get to).  I then came back to my apartment to find my roommate awake and starting his day.  We had a nice talk about jewish tradition and politics (a rarity since our schedules seem to be polar opposite).  I then took a shower and called my father and friend both of which I had been neglecting with all the stress of the past couple weeks.

It’s nice to start living my life again.  It’s nice to be awake in the morning when everyone else is and participate in society.  I’m going to walk to campus and run on our track which I haven’t used since freshmen year.
